USA Swimming Safe Sport-Branded Pop-Up Changing Tents Awarded to All USA Swimming Member Clubs

by USA Swimming
USA Swimming today announced that each registered USA Swimming member club will receive a USA Swimming Safe Sport-branded pop-up changing tent. Through the support of the Keeping Athletes First Action Plan, the Keeping Athletes First Working Group approved this free gift for all USA Swimming member clubs in hopes to further assist them in complying with locker room and changing area policies.
There is no paperwork or application required for USA Swimming member clubs to receive the free pop-up changing tent. All clubs will be automatically sent tents to the address on file in the SWIMS database.
“We value the efforts of our member clubs in continuing to provide a safe and healthy environment free from abuse for athletes,” USA Swimming Program Director of Safe Sport Liz Hahn said. “Gifting these pop-up changing tents allows USA Swimming to help clubs in their continued commitment to safeguard our athlete members. It is our hope this gift will help clubs experiencing locker room restrictions, eliminate deck changing and to provide a separate, private space for athletes to change as required by the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy. We hope these tents help meet an immediate need our member clubs are experiencing.”
All clubs are required to be in full compliance of the updated Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy by September 1, 2021.
As previously announced, those USA Swimming member clubs that achieve Safe Sport Club Recognition will receive an additional USA Swimming Safe Sport-branded pop-up changing tent free of charge and will receive another upon renewal. Therefore, clubs have an opportunity to earn two pop-up changing tents in addition to the one all clubs will receive.
