Night two of the TYR Pro Swim Series Westmont featured dominant performances from National Team athletes. Additionally, three female athletes – Leah Hayes (Sugar Grove, Ill./Fox Valley Park District Riptides), Katie Grimes (Las Vegas, Nev./Sandpipers of Nevada), and Claire Weinstein (White Plains, N.Y./Sandpipers of Nevada) – swam a tough double, completing both the 200m freestyle and 400m individual medley in just over one hour.

Women’s 200m Freestyle – FINAL

2 – Maria Fernanda de Oliveira (BRA), 1:57.81
3 – Claire Weinstein (White Plains, N.Y./Sandpipers of Nevada), 1:58.08

Manuel on her race: “(Going out fast) has been my strategy for the 200s. My best 200s are when I go out fast so that’s really what I wanted to do. I felt the pain at the end but I’m really happy with the end result.”
