USA Swimming Elevates Key Executives

USA Swimming, the national governing body (NGB) for the sport of swimming in the United States, today announced important changes for two key members of its senior staff: Shana Ferguson has been named Chief Operating Officer, and Jake Grosser has been promoted to Managing Director, Marketing and Communications.
After serving as Chief Commercial Officer for over five years with primary responsibility for sales, sponsorships, marketing, communications, productions and creative, Ferguson’s new role accounts for her already expanded leadership over operations, events and competitions, strategic planning and business development. No stranger to the sport, Ferguson spent her youth swimming for Colonie Aquatics in the Adirondack LSC, and then collegiately at the United States Naval Academy.
"Shana recently led a cast of thousands through the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, a showcase of sport bigger than any other in modern Olympic times," said USA Swimming President and CEO Tim Hinchey III. "She is a natural leader on the pool deck and behind the scenes, who prides herself on advocating for all members of USA Swimming and on digging into problem-solve with our staff."
Grosser’s promotion elevates him to a position on the executive team, in no small part due to his effort in launching enhanced digital platforms like the USA Swimming Network, usaswimming.org and the organization’s innovative alliance with Yahoo Sports. Grosser manages all aspects of marketing and communications and will take on expanded responsibility with the Creative/Productions team reporting up to him. Grosser grew up swimming for St Charles Swim Team in the Illinois LSC and then collegiately at both the University of Southern California and Northwestern University.
“Jake continues to excel in the development and execution of initiatives to drive member and fan engagement,” said Hinchey. “I am thrilled he will now be a member of senior staff, with a seat at a table for all strategic decisions made to support our member clubs and drive the business forward.”
USA Swimming is in the midst of its busiest season, as the Olympic Team heads to Paris and clubs and athletes across America prepare for end-of-summer championship meets. To stay updated on all USA Swimming news, visit www.usaswimming.org.
